Ashdown Rambling Club

The Ashdown Rambling Club, based in East Grinstead, West Sussex, was founded in 1961 by five enthusiastic walkers. In 1962 the club became affiliated to the Ramblers' Association and presently has a membership of over 150. Visitors are warmly welcomed to all our walks. Despite the club name, our walks are not limited to the Ashdown Forest and we cover a wide area of Surrey, Kent and Sussex.

We usually have full-day and half-day walks twice a week on Wednesdays  and Sundays. We take a packed lunch for the full-day walks. Almost all of our walks are circular and at the end of every walk we enjoy a cup of tea with cakes or biscuits provided.

New shorter walk  on 3rd Friday of each month. Two to three mile walks with no hills and few styles for members who are now less able to participate in the half-day or full day walks. See programme for walk details.

For Wednesday and Friday walks we meet at the East Court,
Sports Pavilion car park. On Sundays we meet at the Vicarage car park, De La Warr Road.
Members' cars are used to convey walkers to the start of the walk.
