Ashdown Rambling Club

Due to the coronavirus, organised club walks are suspended until further notice

See Ramblers website for current  advice.

The Ashdown Rambling Club, based in East Grinstead, West Sussex, was founded in 1961 by five enthusiastic walkers. In 1962 the club became affiliated to the Ramblers' Association and presently has a membership of over 150. Visitors are warmly welcomed to all our walks. Despite the club name, our walks are not limited to the Ashdown Forest and we cover a wide area of Surrey, Kent and Sussex.

We usually have full-day walks twice a week on Wednesdays  and Sundays and a half-day walk on a Wednesday. We also have occasional Saturday walks.  We take a packed lunch for the full-day walks. Almost all of our walks are circular and at the end of every walk we enjoy a cup of tea with cakes or biscuits provided.

Please see Events page for additional walks and events.

For Wednesday walks we meet at the East Court, Lower Car Park by the Sports Pavilion. On Sundays we meet at the Vicarage car park, De La Warr Road. Members' cars are used to convey walkers to the start of the walk.
